Hair loss for men
The pattern in men is different to the pattern in women. Men develop recession at the temples, thinning and eventually a bald spot on the top of the head (vertex scalp), then ultimately total baldness over the entire crown. Hair above the ears and at the back of the head is relatively spared.
The science behind hair PRP
There are over 30 growth factors in Platelet Rich Plasma that can repair blood vessel damage, skin damage and help “sleepy hair follicles' ' to WAKE UP! Our blood is made up of two main components, red blood cells and plasma. plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which amplifies the body's natural repair system. PRP on the scalp can stimulate activities of hair follicles and promote new hair growth. The growth factors can also signal skin cells to function and are also used to treat numerous health issues such as arthritis, acne scars and more!
How does it work?
There are three simple steps for this procedure.
Step 1
Your blood is drawn from your arm or your hand and put into a centrifuge (a machine that spins rapidly to separate fluids of different densities). The centrifuge will process your blood and separate the platelets.
Step 2
After about 10 minutes in the centrifuge, your blood will have separated into in three layers:
- Platelet-poor plasma
- Platelet-rich plasma
- Red blood cells
Step 3
The platelet-rich plasma is drawn up into a syringe and then injected with very fine needles to areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth. These injections can reach the root of hair follicles and the white blood cells in PRP will trigger regrowth! this can be combined with micro-needling for best results as it stimulates the scalp.
